In early 2023, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the National Cancer Plan, a guide the nation’s efforts against cancer. The Plan provides a framework for collaboration to reduce cancer mortality rates in the United States by at least 50% over the next 25 years and to end cancer as we know it.
The National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT) proudly announces the submission of a comprehensive letter to the President’s Cancer Panel, advisors to the President on the National Cancer Program. This letter serves as the proton industry’s response to an appeal for input to ensure that the rich landscape of cancer care innovation is informing the National Cancer Plan, an effort central to the mission of the White House Cancer Moonshot Initiative
NAPT’s letter mirrors the priorities outlined in the National Cancer Plan and underscores the proton industry’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of cancer care and expanding equitable access to life-saving cancer treatment. The letter serves as a vital contribution to enrich the dialogue surrounding the future of cancer care.
