The National Association for Proton Therapy is pleased to announce the addition of two employees. Please welcome JJ Vitale as the Director of Communications & Member Engagement and Casey Grigsby as the Director of Program Management & Health Policy.
Jamie Jo “JJ” Vitale joined the NAPT as Director of Communications and Membership Relations on July 6th, 2021 bringing with her more than a decade’s experience in marketing, public relations, and member engagement. Vitale has extensive experience in omni-channel marketing, strategic communications, web design, digital campaign implementation, and association member management. She has served as the Director of Membership at the Jacksonville Zoo and most recently led communications at the North Florida School of Special Education.
Vitale has successfully orchestrated press conferences, has event planning proficiency, and enjoys building relationships with publications and influential individuals. As the former Director of Community Relations at Ackerman Cancer Center, Mrs. Vitale has proton therapy and traditional radiation oncology expertise. Additionally, Vitale formerly served on the Board of Directors of NAPT, actively involved in the Marketing and Operations committees.
Vitale is currently a member of the Jacksonville American Marketing Association, Association of Fundraising Professionals First Coast Chapter and serves on the Conservation Board for the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Vitale consults with independent wildlife conservation organizations on key fundraising campaigns. Vitale also serves as the Communication Liaison for the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and the Center for Tactical Medicine. Vitale received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of North Florida with an emphasis on Health Communications and Public Relations.
Casey Erin Grigsby the will join the NAPT as Director of Program Management & Health Policy on August 8th, 2021 after holding a series of high-profile positions in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining NAPT, Mrs. Grigsby, was the Vice President of Programs & Planning at the Florida Ports Council.
Grigsby has over 15 years of policy, strategic planning, freight, communications, and government affairs experience focused on communicating technical information to stakeholders and constituents while serving as in state-level agencies and academia. She has served in a variety of positions, including former transportation consultant to the Florida Department of Transportation managing executive communication & event planning, creating the Florida State University Real Estate Foundation as Executive Assistant to the CFO of the FSU Foundation, and Executive Secretary for Florida Representative Hugh Gibson of the Villages. Mrs. Grigsby is a well-known advocate on resiliency, urban planning, critical infrastructure, infrastructure funding, public-private partnerships, and engagement initiatives.
Grigsby currently serves on community leadership organization to include: Leadership Florida, Women in Transportation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Leadership Florida, Florida Oceans Alliance, Knight Creative Communities Institute, and Youth Leadership Tallahassee. Mrs. Grigsby received her Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from The Florida State University, a Master’s degree in Communications from Purdue University, and her Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs from The Florida State University.
