Amy was diagnosed with triple-negative DCIS in 2019 and received proton therapy at Oklahoma Proton Center. Due to her cancer’s location, Amy was adamant she receive proton therapy over conventional radiation therapy to spare her heart and lung from unnecessary toxicity and damage. “I didn’t want my life shortened because of cancer treatment. I knew the way to go would be proton therapy.”
